Blog

This blog is dedicated to my Bali Head. It may look like a girl but it is in fact a boy’s head. I call it Wayan. Bali is an island in Indonesia. My mother bought Wayan in an Emporium (neighbourhood store) in River Valley Road, Singapore, in 1945 just after the end of the War in Asia (World War 2). River Valley Road is still there but is much more of a residential area now. Wayan is made of teak which is very heavy and very beautiful. The carving of his face, hair and traditional Balinese head-dress are also very beautiful. I love it very much and keep it on my desk. Wayan is my inspiration and it is Wayan who conducts this blog.
